Brodie Lott
Suspension
Brodie is a Junior studying Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Math. This is his second year on the team, having been heavily involved with the suspension subteam with teaching, calculations, simulations, and design.
"My plans this year for Steering and Suspension are to modify the car’s front geometry to improve our vehicle dynamics in cornering and jumps. My major focus is on testing geometric principles on the car that were not used last year including camber, caster, and Ackermann steering geometry. The other goal this year is to adjust the rear semi-trailing arm suspension to provide more clearance for the brake system and easier maintenance. I enjoy Baja because it gives me an opportunity to specialize in specific areas like vehicle dynamics and suspension. Baja has also provided me insight into the manufacturing process that has made me a more practical designer during my internship. Lastly, the people and community provide a great atmosphere and sense of belonging through everyone’s diverse personalities and interests. I call on anyone to join Baja for the community engagement and career development opportunities. We provided valuable manufacturing experience, engineering design feedback, and a rich racing culture in our shop. I sincerely hope to see you here!"
