Catherine (Cate) is a junior in Mechanical Engineering, with minors in Material Science Engineering and Data Science. This is her second year on the team, having previously been a member of the frame subteam.

"As an officer this year, my goal is to design a strong, well-integrated frame that works seamlessly with the other subteams and helps set the team up for success at competition. Having served on the Frame subteam in previous years, I also want to recruit and mentor more women in Baja, creating an environment where everyone feels welcome to learn and contribute. I enjoy Baja because it gives me the opportunity to work with my hands toward a shared goal while developing practical engineering and technical skills in a real-world setting. Beyond the technical experience, Baja is a great way to step away from the stress of school, have fun, and work alongside people who are passionate about building an off-road car together. I encourage others to join Baja because it offers hands-on engineering experience, collaboration with a dedicated team, and the chance to see your hard work come to life in a competitive vehicle."
